With Novel Approach to Turning 40, D.C. Entrepreneur Hosts Second Birthday Conference

#EPGis40 Birthday Conference Celebrates Emily Goodstein and her favorite things

The event celebrates the 40th Anniversary of her birth, and the 10th Anniversary of her first birthday conference

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The founder of Greater Good Strategy, a digital marketing, social media, and online fundraising agency, Emily Pearl Goodstein is hosting a full-day conference in celebration of her 40th birthday. The conference will take place on Sunday, May 7 at the University of the District of Columbia. Building on the success of her 30th birthday conference, the agenda consists of sessions conducted by members of her personal network, inviting friends and family to enjoy her favorite things – including the conference experience itself.

“One of the most important values in my life is celebration,” said Emily Pearl Goodstein, host of the #EPGis40 Birthday Conference. “Especially after the isolation we’ve all experienced in the past few years, it is so important to me to bring people together in celebration. What better way to celebrate the milestone of turning 40, than gathering my community into a conference setting to share in the things I am passionate about: cookies, music and reading, reproductive justice, and engaging little ones we love!”

The interactive sessions will focus on:

  • Cookie decorating

  • “Uncle Office Hours” hosted by Goodstein’s brothers-in-law offering tips on being a good uncle

  • Story time and crafts with the preschool teachers of Goodstein’s two-year-old daughter

  • Massage for head and neck pain

  • The benefits of music therapy

  • How to discover a new city

  • A workout with Goodstein’s personal trainer, James Parker-Ashley of Hidden Gyms

The conference space will include a marketplace featuring Goodstein’s favorite local businesses, including support for nursing parents from Goodstein’s lactation consultant. There will also be headshot photography and an opportunity to model for Princess Awesome, a woman-owned brand defying gender stereotypes in children's clothing.

The conference will conclude with a cocktail reception featuring drinks from Liquid and Garnish and cake pops from Baked by Yael.

District of Columbia Councilmember Brianne Nadeau, welcomed the conference with a letter.

“I encourage all of you to fully embrace the spirit of #EPGis40,” wrote D.C. Councilmember Brianne Nadeau.  “That means channeling Emily’s enthusiasm for life, making a new friend, learning a new skill, celebrating whenever you get the chance, and stopping to enjoy a delicious snack or beverage while you’re at it.”

Goodstein invites everyone to enjoy the conference even if they can’t attend in person by following #EPGis40 on instagram.

The conference is at capacity with more than 250 registrants set to attend. Media are welcome to come by the conference but are asked to RSVP by May 5 to meredith.mackenzie@gmail.com.
